Inspiration + Perspiration
Books are magic.
But before hitting the shelves and finding their way into the hands of readers, it all starts with an idea, a spark, or a scribbled note.
The idea for this site came to me because I realized after I read a book, I often find myself so enthralled and mesmerized by the writing that a little part of me thinks:
I can never do that.
I can’t ever write something so wonderful.
The truth is every word, illustration, and design started somewhere. They have been rewritten, revised, and redrawn.
I hope this site helps serve as a reminder that while there is magic, there is also motivation and hard work behind every story. This is a place where published authors and illustrators are sharing a piece of that journey.
As for me?
I am a writer of picture books, chapter books, and middle grade novels currently seeking representation. My dog is more popular than I ever will be and my manager is my 4-year-old. Performance reviews can be rough.
